Kathleen C, Hatch of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Dec 24th, 2002, four days before her 82nd birhtday. She was born in Scipio, UT to the late Lottie C. and Frank S. Hatch. She went to elementary school in Scipio and high school in Fillmore, UT. She graduated from the University of Utah, June 1943, in dietetics. After graduating, she trained for a year at Madigan General Hospital, Seattle, WA. She joined the US Army as a lieutenant and served as a dietitian at several military hospitals until being dishcharged in 1947. She was at Camp Carson when wounded soldiers from General Patton's Third Army arrived for medical treatment. She also worked as a dietitian at several hospitals in Oregon and California before becoming chief dietitian at Sonoma County Hospital, CA where she worked for 22 years. At the hospital, Kathleen hired high school boys and girls to help in the kitchen and arranged 5the work hours not to interfere with their academic activities. She always called them "my boys". Kathleen was very interested in Sonoma County history and was a charter member of the Sonoma County Historical Society. She also was a member of the Sonoma County Chorus for many years. Her brother, William Hatch of Scipio, UT, and sisters Charlotte Orton, Fresno, CA, Helen Wood, Salt Lake City, UT, and Alice Tollestrup, Albuquerque, NM as well as numerous nices an dnephews, survive her.
